Update 0.3.0


Hello! It’s been a bit since the last patch. I took a longer break than expected, but ever since, I’ve been hard at work updating the game to make this the most substantial update yet!

  • Engine
    • Upgraded to Godot 4.4.
  • Gameplay
    • Adjusted crit levels to no longer be exponential.
    • Adjusted difficulties above average to no longer take away player health.
    • Core game loop improvements.
      • Objective/Egg count is no longer random, starting at 4 and increasing by 1 each loop.
      • Bosses now spawn after destroying all objectives.
      • Defeating the boss and clearing the area of all remaining enemies now presents the player with the option to end run or continue the mission, increasing rewards and difficulty, and generating a new combat arena.
  • Upgrades
    • New Upgrades Added.
      • Weighted Chamber
        • Increase crit chance for every XP collected, chance resets on next shot.
      • Nitro Boost
        • Increase boost speed.
      • Fuel Reserves
        • Increase boost duration.
      • Repair Subroutines
        • Passively repair damage over time.
      • Reactive Armor
        • Spawn an explosion on the player when taking damage.
      • Nanite Swarm
        • Passively damage nearby enemies and objects.
      • Troop Transport
        • Spawn infantry followers, projectile upgrades are shared.
    • Upgrades Adjusted:
      • Discharge Coils
        • No longer triggers when hitting destructible environment objects. Only enemies.
      • Lucky Shot
        • Bonus crit chance reduced from 33% to 10%
  • Parts
    • Stag Beetle Chassis
      • Improved Artwork.
    • T-343 Shade Chassis
      • Improved Artwork.
      • Adjusted hurtbox size to match new artwork.
  • Audio
    • Added 4 new combat music tracks.
      • Different music now plays every loop.
    • Added a 1% chance for infantry from Troop Transport to Wilhelm scream on death.
    • Misc. audio balancing.
  • UI
    • Misc. typo fixes.

Next on the to-do list for upcoming patches and updates are late-game performance optimizations, run history UI, new enemies, and new parts.
